Grant Forrest still top Scot in Race to Dubai after top 10 in Oman Open

Grant Forrest cemented his position as the top Scot in this season’s Race to Dubai with a strong performance in the Oman Open.

Grant followed up opening rounds of 70-73 at Al Mouj Golf in Muscat with closing efforts of 69-68 for an eight-under-par total.

He finished joint-10th behind Finn Sam Valimaki to sit 38th in the Race to Dubai in his second full seeaon on the European Tour.

It was Grant’s second top 10 in the 2020 campaign, having tied for fourth in the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open in December.

After sharing the lead at the halfway stage, Stephen Gallacher finished in a share of 30th, with Calum Hill just outside the top 50.

The trio are all in the field for this week’s Commercial Bank Qatar Masters and are being joined at Education City Golf Club in Doha, a new venue for the event, by Bob MacIntyre.
