Grant Forrest became a DP Tour winner for a second time on home soil as he won The Nexo Championship at Trump International Golf Links with a 4-shot margin over England’s Joe Dean.
Starting the Final Round with a 3-shot lead, Grant birdied the 4th, 7th and 10th to open up a huge lead over of his closest challengers. Then, a bogey on the 12th & double-bogey on the last still left him with a comfortable winning margin of 4 shots.
Given the tough windy conditions all week, Grant showed his experience of links golf to tame the magnificent Trump Old Course with some great iron play backed up by strong putting to set himself aside from the field.
This second win, which was almost 4 years to the day after his maiden victory on the DP World Tour at the Hero Open at Fairmont, St Andrews, moves Grant up to 28th place on the Race to Dubai.
