Louise Duncan joins Bounce Sport

We are delighted to announce, with immediate effect, that Louise Duncan has decided to turn professional, joining the portfolio of great talent at Edinburgh-based agency, Bounce Sport.

Louise came to prominence in 2021 when she won the Women’s Amateur Championship at Barassie defeating Iceland’s Jóhanna Lea Lúðvíksdóttir by a record-breaking 9&8 margin, following that up with a top 10 finish at the AIG Women’s Open at Carnoustie, and with it winning the Smyth Salver to announce herself on the world stage.

Other highlights in a stellar amateur career include winning the R&A Student Series in Portugal and representing GB&I in the last two Curtis Cup matches.

Having just completed a Sports Studies degree at the University of Stirling, where Louise was a major part of the University’s very successful high performance golf programme, she now looks to follow in the footsteps of fellow alumni Catriona Matthew.

Louise will make her professional debut at next week’s Trust Golf Women’s Scottish Open, courtesy of a Sponsor’s invitation from VisitScotland, before her reappearance at the AIG Women’s Open at Muirfield. The rest of the season will be made up of a combination of LET Access events and LET opportunity in a bid to lockdown status for 2023.

Louise said: “I am very excited to be turning professional and that the Scottish Open will be my first event. I am grateful to VisitScotland for the invitation and I am really looking forward to be playing in such a major event in front of a home support.”

“I am very proud of my amateur career, and I am confident that now is the right time to take the next step and move into the professional ranks. I am really appreciative of all of the support that I have received, and I hope to continue working with everyone who has helped me reach this stage in my career.”

Louise has already secured the support of Ping, Titleist, J.Lindeberg, Nike and Arnold Clark, and is also aware of the challenges that the professional game will bring. Speaking after the 150th Open Championship at St.Andrews where she was invited by the R&A to compete in the Celebration of Champions Challenge, Louise said: “Playing in the Champions’ Challenge was a huge honour, and this really made me appreciate the journey that I am just about to embark on. It was immensely inspiring, and a huge motivator for me.”

Louise now joins the player roster at Bounce Sport which includes Robert MacIntyre, Stephen Gallacher, Grant Forrest, Calum Hill, Paul Dunne & Euan Walker, saying: “I am delighted to join Bounce Sport and the other players they represent. I know all about their track record in bringing players through from the amateur to professional ranks very successfully, so it really was a straight-forward decision.”

Iain Stoddart, Bounce Sport’s founding partner, is delighted that Louise is joining Bounce Sport, and is looking forward to watching her progress over the coming years.

Iain Stoddart said: “Louise is a very exciting talent, and her success as an amateur fits in superbly alongside all of the other players we work with. As always we are delighted to take up what we believe is a responsibility to help Louise as she embarks onher professional career and to work with her as she looks to climb the ladder in world golf.”
